Steady&Sway Studio Adventures: My creative journey in Baltimore

Hey everyone!

I’m so excited to share what’s been happening since I opened my little studio a few months ago. It’s been a wild ride, and I thought it’d be fun to give you all a peek into my world and what I’ve been up to.

The Big Leap

Having my own studio has always been a dream of mine. When I stumbled upon this space online at Night Owl Studios in Baltimore, I didn’t hesitate for a second. I just jumped right in! Honestly, I had no concrete plan, no specific direction. I just knew I wanted a space of my own to create.

Trying It All

With this newfound project, I decided to experiment with everything. From branding portraits and couples photos to maternity to boudoir and couples boudoir, I’ve dabbled in it all. Each shoot has been a new adventure, sparking my creativity in ways I never imagined. To my biggest surprise, boudoir has been the most fun of all. I never saw myself as a boudoir photographer, but once I tried it, I knew that this was the new direction I was going to move towards.

Inspired by My Surroundings

Being in the same building with other artists has been incredibly inspiring. There’s something magical about the Night Owl Art Gallery and the whole vibe of the Station North Arts District. I’ve been soaking it all in, getting to know the area and the amazing people here. It’s a community bursting with talent and passion, and it’s been a huge motivator for me.

A Few Highlights

  • Branding Portraits/Headshots: Helping individuals and businesses create a strong visual identity has been so rewarding.

  • Couples Photos: I've been documenting couples for almost a decade now, but doing so in a studio setting is pretty new to me. Having couples interact authentically and show their personalities while having less space to move around having to pose more has been challenging but also incredibly fun. Some couples appreciate the more intimate environment the studio space offers.

  • Maternity: I've had the pleasure of documenting some beautiful expecting mamas in my studio. And I have to say, the space is perfect for maternity sessions. I know the A/C has been very much appreciated during these hot Maryland summer months.

  • Boudoir: This has been an empowering journey, not just for my clients but for me as well. It’s all about celebrating confidence and beauty. To my surprise, this has been the most inspiring type of session I have recently added to my services. Boudoir sessions have sparked my creativity in ways I couldn't imagine before. I am so excited to be able to offer boudoir sessions now!

  • Couples Boudoir: sessions was something I never considered doing before, but when I started to have requests for them, I just went for it, and I just love the intimate, artistic nature of them, and they're such a beautiful way to celebrate relationships.

Looking Ahead

I’m excited to see where this journey takes me next. I have so many ideas brewing and can’t wait to explore more creative avenues. If you’re ever in the Baltimore area, come say hi! I’d love to show you around my studio and share the creative energy of this incredible community.

Thanks for joining me on this adventure. Stay tuned for more updates, behind-the-scenes peeks, and lots of creative fun!
